An important part of living with a neurological condition is realizing that you are not alone. The support of others who are dealing with the same things you are is very valuable in keeping spirits high, finding answers, and keeping up to date on the latest care options. We’ve posted links below to several outstanding organizations dedicated to specific conditions. Many have local Alaska chapters.

For children experiencing neurological conditions that manifest in mental or emotional symptoms, such as Tourette Syndrome, our state has a very good support and educational organization called the Alaska Youth & Family Network:
Children who suffer from neurological conditions live with unique challenges that can only truly be understood by other children with the same conditions. There are several camps that allow these children to spend time with their peers and do what kids do best…have fun. Here is one site that lists some of these camps:
